Staff Computational Biologist (NGS): Developing computational methods, bioinformatics pipelines, and molecular assays for early, noninvasive cancer detection using cfDNA biomarkers with an accent on NGS assay development, quantitative analysis, and diagnostic utility. Focus on designing research studies, interpreting molecular and clinical data, and iterating experimental methods with multidisciplinary computational and wet-lab scientists.
Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States
Salary: $188,275–$270,375 base salary, plus equity, cash bonuses, and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead the analysis and interpretation of molecular and clinical data for early cancer detection.
- Develop research hypotheses and own computational and assay improvement projects from ideation through implementation.
- Build bioinformatics pipelines for high-throughput NGS data processing and analysis.
- Assess assay performance, quality control, and clinical utility in collaboration with wet-lab scientists.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Molecular R&D, Model R&D, and Computational Biology Assay Development teams.
Requirements
- PhD in computational biology, cancer biology, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
- 6+ years of scientific industry experience applying computational techniques to biological discovery and product development.
- Extensive experience developing NGS assays and complex high-throughput NGS processing workflows.
- Strong quantitative reasoning, data analysis, computational, and programming skills.
- Thorough experience with Python statistical packages such as NumPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas, or equivalent R experience.
- Strong scientific communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Expertise in chromatin biology, liquid biopsy, and DNA methylation in cancer early detection.
- Experience using DNA methylation data for biomarker discovery.
- Experience developing, applying, and evaluating statistical or machine learning algorithms.
