Location: On-site in Torrance, CA. Must be a 'U.S. person' as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or protected individual).
Salary: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

What you will do
- Design marine propulsion and drivetrain systems, including shafting, couplings, mounts, seals, and steering hardware.
- Collaborate with naval hitects on hull-to-machinery integration, packaging, and foundation loads.
- Own thermal and fluid systems across the vessel, including cooling loops, pumps, and ventilation.
- Run structural, thermal, and hydrodynamic analysis to size and validate components.
- Build and execute test plans on the bench, at the dock, and on the water to iterate designs.
- Manage drawings, GD&T, and BOMs while driving DFM/DFA with manufacturing and supply chain teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval hitecture, Ocean Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience designing and releasing mechanical systems for production.
- Strong background in machine design fundamentals: statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluids.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA) and PDM/PLM workflows.
- Must be a 'U.S. person' per ITAR regulations (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual).
- Ability to work hands-on in the shop and lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT license in Naval hitecture.
- Experience with electric or hybrid marine propulsion.
- Experience with small craft or high-speed craft.
