Director, Government Affairs (AI/Semiconductors)

Location: HOME DC; must be physically located in the greater Washington D.C. area with ready access to the U.S. government

Annual salary: $140,000–$260,000 in Washington, D.C.; additional incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Define and execute policy priorities covering global trade and exports, national security, AI regulation, U.S.-China relations, and industrial policy.
• Translate legislative, regulatory, and policy developments into actionable insights for products, customers, operations, risk management, and business strategy.
• Represent hirify.global before administrative, regulatory, legislative, and executive government bodies and support senior leaders at major events.
• Coordinate engineering, sales, marketing, communications, compliance, legal, lobbying firms, and policy advisors around government affairs objectives.
• Build relationships with regulators, elected officials, civil servants, trade associations, and other external stakeholders.
• Prepare policy recommendations, briefings, presentations, publications, and other materials for government stakeholders and senior leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant public policy or government affairs experience, preferably in a global technology company connected to the semiconductor or electronics ecosystem.
• Demonstrated engagement with senior Executive Branch officials, including Commerce/BIS, DoD, State, and NSC, as well as Congress.
• Strong fluency in semiconductors, AI, software, or electronics, with the ability to translate technical concepts into policy and business risk.
• Experience designing government engagement strategies, managing external lobbying firms and policy advisors, and working with trade associations and coalitions.
• Outstanding written, verbal, interpersonal, advocacy, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Physical presence in the greater Washington D.C. area and ready access to the U.S. government are required.
