A large distributed retail mortgage lender operating across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, with more than 9,000 employees and over 700 branches.

What you will do

  • Manage and coordinate responses to federal and state regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests.
  • Research and evaluate federal and state requirements to support material regulatory compliance.
  • Develop examination preparedness and remediation strategies with the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Gather, review, and organize documentation and data with business stakeholders.
  • Track examination findings, corrective action plans, and remediation timelines through resolution.
  • Update policies and procedures and report significant examination matters with recommendations to senior legal leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of mortgage lending experience, including 1 year focused on regulatory examinations or audits.
  • Experience supporting examinations by state regulators, the CFPB, or prudential regulators.
  • Knowledge of consumer mortgage lending laws, including TILA/Regulation Z, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, and state requirements.
  • Experience with a loan origination system; Encompass experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and regulatory analysis skills.
  • Must be based in the United States for this remote role.
