TL;DR

Systems Engineer (Space Systems): Developing, integrating, and verifying satellite payload systems for a weather observation constellation with an accent on requirements, interfaces, verification, and mission performance. Location: Onsite in Golden, Colorado, United States. Access to controlled technology requires candidates to be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals unless required export licenses are obtained.

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annually, subject to local market, skills, and experience.

What you will do

  • Develop and integrate satellite payload systems for constellation programs.
  • Define requirements, interfaces, integration plans, verification documentation, and technical designs across the payload lifecycle.
  • Plan and support system-level testing, performance modeling, and mission analysis from concept through launch and operations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams, partners, and scientific stakeholders.
  • Conduct trade studies, identify technical risks, and support mitigation planning.
  • Track technical performance and strengthen systems engineering quality and rigor.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years of experience developing, integrating, and testing complex engineered systems, preferably satellite payloads or similar hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, payload integration, system architecture, requirements management, interface control, and verification planning.
  • Experience with MBSE or comparable structured systems engineering approaches.
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics and LEO Earth observation constellation design.
  • Experience with AGI STK, GMAT, Orekit, or equivalent space mission analysis and simulation tools.
  • Eligibility to access U.S.-controlled technology: U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or protected individual status unless licensing requirements are met.
