Director, Supply Chain (Life Sciences)

Location: Based in the Walkersville, MD office

Salary: $190,000–$225,000

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end Supply Chain operations, including Planning, Procurement, Warehousing, and Order Fulfillment.
• Provide strategic oversight and leadership for Supply Chain activities at the Durham, NC site, specifically focusing on Planning and Purchasing.
• Own and optimize the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to balance demand, supply, capacity, and financial targets.
• Develop and execute master production schedules and material plans to ensure reliable delivery and inventory optimization.
• Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and HR to drive operational excellence and site performance.
• Build and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain or Operations, ideally within a GMP-regulated environment (biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences).
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams in both direct and matrixed environments.
• Strong expertise in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demand/supply balancing.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable decisions and manage complex challenges.
• Strong analytical skills in financial, inventory, and capacity planning.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
