Salary: $96,000–$124,000 annual compensation

Periodic Labs is building an autonomous laboratory that combines chemistry, robotics, automation, AI, and materials science to accelerate high-throughput materials discovery.

What you will do

  • Receive, inspect, label, inventory, and safely store chemicals and compressed gases.
  • Manage chemical, SDS, hazard-classification, storage, PPE, and EHS supply records in laboratory inventory or LIMS systems.
  • Collect, package, stage, and coordinate disposal of hazardous, universal, electronic, and contaminated waste.
  • Maintain satellite and central accumulation areas according to container compatibility, labeling, closure, and storage requirements.
  • Conduct laboratory safety inspections, compliance audits, corrective-action tracking, and readiness activities.
  • Maintain emergency equipment and support safety training, environmental sampling, inspections, cleanouts, equipment moves, and decommissioning.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in EHS, chemistry, environmental science, occupational health, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in laboratory operations, hazardous waste, chemical management, industrial EHS, semiconductor, biotechnology, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory chemical handling, hazard compatibility, and hazardous waste management.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, including accurate record maintenance.
  • Ability to safely move containers and supplies throughout an active laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with scientists, engineers, vendors, and regulators.

Nice to have

  • Experience with RCRA and California hazardous waste requirements, including DTSC, CUPA, or CERS.
  • Experience with chemical inventory systems, environmental sampling, DOT hazardous-materials requirements, or TSDF coordination.
  • HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid, forklift, pallet jack, or related safety training.
  • Experience in semiconductor, advanced materials, chemical, or research laboratories.
