What you will do

• Lead the evolution of search and discovery, from indexing to ranking and overall performance.
• Optimize search relevance using tools like Algolia or Elasticsearch, focusing on query understanding and boosting.
• Execute experiments to measure success via CTR and engagement metrics.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to ensure accurate and fresh search indexes.
• Design and deliver mid-sized engineering initiatives and serverless cloud-native applications.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain robust continuous delivery practices.

Requirements

• Commercial experience with React, Node, and TypeScript.
• Proven track record of integrating search functionality (Algolia, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch).
• Deep understanding of information retrieval, relevance scoring, and indexing strategies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
