Production Director (Animation)

TL;DR

Production Director (Animation): Leading the complete production of an animated series from concept and development through editing, sound, post-production, and broadcast delivery with an accent on scheduling, budgets, resources, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on anticipating production risks, solving complex pipeline issues, and aligning creative, technical, financial, and delivery requirements.

Location: On-site in Angoulême, France. Start as soon as possible. The contract is an 18-month CDDU.

What you will do

• Lead the full animated series production workflow from development and concept through final post-production and broadcast deliverables.
• Build and optimize master schedules, resource plans, and production budgets.
• Manage relationships and follow-ups with clients, broadcasters, co-producers, and external vendors.
• Lead and motivate production teams and artists while coordinating with studio management on internal resources.
• Identify schedule and budget risks and implement preventive or corrective actions.
• Manage creative notes, approvals, and session feedback to ensure effective execution.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of senior production management experience in the animation industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the complete series production pipeline, including concept, storyboarding, 2D/3D creation, editing, sound, compliance, and delivery.
• Strong command of Kitsu, ShotGrid/Flow Production Tracking, Excel, and Google Sheets.
• Ability to anticipate challenges, work autonomously, and resolve complex production issues.
• Strong management, interpersonal, and diplomatic communication skills.
• Fluent French and English, both written and spoken, are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the legal, financial, and technical aspects of the film and audiovisual industry.
• Experience with multi-site projects or international co-productions.
