TL;DR
Vice President – Payment Products Authorization Operations (Fintech): Leading global 24/7 authorization operations for Visa’s real-time payment platforms with an accent on high availability, incident management, observability, automation, and AI-enabled operations. Focus on directing major incident response, designing orchestrated operating models, and maintaining five- and six-nines reliability across highly regulated transaction-processing environments.

Location: Singapore, SingPost; on-site with at least 3 days in the office. The role also serves as site lead for hirify.global’s Basingstoke, UK campus and requires consistent performance from an assigned hirify.global office location.

What you will do

  • Lead a globally distributed organization of approximately 100 authorization operations professionals providing reliable 24/7 production support.
  • Own secure, highly available authorization operations for hirify.global’s Payment Products, with availability targets of up to six nines.
  • Serve as the senior operational decision-maker during major authorization incidents and oversee escalation, risk containment, and post-incident learning.
  • Lead operational acceptance for products entering production and establish readiness, risk mitigation, ownership, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Design automated and orchestrated operating workflows integrating observability, AIOps, Generative AI, incident management, and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Act as site lead for the Basingstoke campus, supporting engagement, facilities coordination, and employee advocacy.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years with an advanced degree, or 8+ years with a PhD.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development and/or technology operations fundamentals, including observability, event management, or incident response.
  • Leadership experience running mission-critical, real-time platforms at global scale, preferably in payments, financial networks, transaction processing, telecom, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience owning 24/7 production operations, major incidents, escalation management, high-availability targets, and operational risk.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed, multifunctional teams and managing complex transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of payment systems, PCI, SOX, SSAE/ISAE, and regulatory standards including FBA, BOE, and RBI.

Nice to have

  • 15+ years of experience leading global teams and complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with mainframe-based payment processing platforms, microservices, containers, messaging, queuing, and caching technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Generative AI, AIOps, automation, agentic capabilities, and highly orchestrated operations models.
  • Experience with IT service management, including incident management, change management, operational metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Payments industry leadership experience and a record of recruiting, developing, retaining, and motivating technical talent.
