Director Operational Excellence & PMO (Biotech)

Location: Visp, Switzerland; primarily based on the manufacturing site. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do

• Define and execute the Operational Excellence strategy across Microbial Operations.
• Lead Lean Six Sigma continuous-improvement initiatives and deliver measurable business impact across manufacturing assets.
• Establish and operate a PMO framework covering governance, prioritization, and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Oversee the project portfolio, including scope, milestones, risks, resources, and benefits realization.
• Partner with senior leadership on cross-functional priorities, decision-making, roadmaps, business reviews, and continuity planning.
• Coach leaders and embed a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Requirements

• Significant experience in manufacturing operations, operational excellence, or project and program management in a complex environment.
• Strong expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Black Belt certification is preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without formal authority.
• Strong project portfolio management and governance capabilities.
• Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on execution mindset.
• Relevant degree, such as engineering or life sciences; postgraduate qualification is preferred.
