Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: Hybrid role based in Lisbon, Portugal, with a minimum of two days per week in the Lisbon office.

What you will do

• Build and improve product experiences for buyers, sellers, customer service, and internal operations teams.
• Create responsive and accessible web frontends using TypeScript and React on top of scalable microservices.
• Measure, monitor, and optimize application performance across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers on experiments and A/B tests.
• Collaborate with frontend, backend, mobile, QA, design, and product colleagues to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive frontend experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a strong portfolio of delivered frontend products.
• Strong foundations in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, HTTP/S, the Critical Rendering Path, CORS, caching, and CDNs.
• Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Next, Redux, CSS Modules, Tailwind, or Rails.
• Experience working in product companies and autonomous, cross-functional teams.
• Experience designing, deploying, monitoring, and managing production applications with attention to availability, latency, and consistency.
• Senior-level ownership, knowledge sharing, and commitment to accessibility, security, SEO, performance, testing, observability, internationalization, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Node and experience running it in production.
