Director Consulting (Fintech)

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa; frequent travel and work on client sites required

What you will do

• Build senior relationships with banks, merchants, and fintech clients across Southern Eastern Africa and West Central Africa.
• Translate client objectives, strategic priorities, implementation needs, and technology requirements into proposals, statements of work, roadmaps, delivery plans, and commercial recommendations.
• Lead consulting and implementation engagements from problem definition through delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, quality standards, and outcomes.
• Establish and manage large regional and Pan-African programs, including planning, governance, risk management, reporting, and closure.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across hirify.global and client organizations.
• Improve regional consulting methodologies, operating models, playbooks, dashboards, delivery standards, and opportunity pipelines.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience and at least a bachelor's degree.
• Experience in consulting, preferably with a strategy consulting firm or Big Four organization.
• Strong knowledge of card operations, digital payments, product implementation, portfolio management, and client operations.
• Experience with program management, stakeholder management, executive reporting, operating model improvement, and senior relationship management.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, facilitation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to travel frequently and work on client sites.

Nice to have

• Experience in African markets, with regional and global experience desirable.
• Experience sourcing specialist talent through agencies, contractors, system integrators, or managed service providers.
