Senior / Staff Detection & Response Engineer

Location: On-site at an office in Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, or San Francisco; applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $230,000–$330,000 plus equity.

Suno is an AI music and creative entertainment company building a platform for making and sharing music.

What you will do

• Design and build detection and telemetry pipelines, including logging coverage, detection infrastructure, and supporting data.
• Create high-signal detections for identity, access, cloud control-plane, and data-exfiltration threats.
• Build and own incident response playbooks, on-call operations, live response, and post-incident reviews.
• Partner with security and platform engineering to close telemetry gaps and improve instrumentation.
• Establish detection-as-code practices and metrics-driven response operations.
• Develop detections for AI-specific abuse, emerging threats, and novel attack patterns.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in detection and response, including building detection capabilities and setting technical direction.
• Strong AWS-native detection expertise, including CloudTrail, GuardDuty, VPC and flow logs, and related services.
• Engineering-first mindset focused on detection-as-code.
• Calm, structured, and decisive approach during live security incidents.
• Interest in detecting emerging AI/ML abuse and threat patterns.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and availability for on-site work at one of the listed offices.

Nice to have

• Experience securing consumer products at scale.
• Experience as an early or founding detection hire.
• Exposure to AI/ML abuse or platform-abuse signals.
