Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom, with a minimum of 2 days on-site per week and occasional work from home.

What you will do

• Design and create lighting and visual looks for computer-generated objects and scenes.
• Assemble, light, and render complex CG shots to a high standard.
• Collaborate with Lighting and CG Supervisors to solve technical challenges and develop final looks.
• Create new lighting setups or work within established pipeline setups.
• Optimize rendering configurations and render farm usage.

Requirements

• Advanced lighting and rendering experience in a VFX environment, including shot look development.
• In-depth understanding of the VFX pipeline from modeling and animation through texturing, rendering, and compositing.
• Essential knowledge of Python and/or MEL scripting, pipeline scripting, and Linux-based operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of RenderMan, physically plausible shading, lighting techniques, and color space.
• Good knowledge of Nuke or a similar compositing package, including layers and passes.
• Strong collaboration, communication, aesthetic judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Katana and RenderMan.
• Ability to learn new techniques and software quickly.
