Salary: $177,300–$212,800 USD, plus potential bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Lead SOTIF evaluations and guide engineering teams toward SOTIF acceptance criteria.
• Identify functional insufficiencies and triggering conditions, conduct HIRE risk analyses, and define safety improvements.
• Develop acceptance criteria, safety requirements, and verification and validation targets for known and unknown safety scenarios.
• Collaborate with functional safety, systems, architecture, AI-ML, software, and design teams on autonomous trucking specifications.
• Assess design specifications against SOTIF maturity standards and recommend design improvements.
• Communicate safety metrics, risk assessments, and deployment strategies to management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, or an equivalent field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Expertise applying ISO 21448 (SOTIF), ISO-PAS 8800, and ISO 26262 in complex engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of automotive, heavy-duty truck, or aerospace products and industries.
• Strong analytical, project management, leadership, communication, and risk assessment skills.
• Experience defining safety requirements and verification and validation strategies across cross-functional engineering teams.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States or onsite at an available U.S. location.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AI-ML techniques.
• Software development experience with C++, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with Jama, CAMEO, JIRA, or SAFe Agile environments.
