Senior Data Platform Engineer

Location: Budapest, Hungary. Hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

hirify.global operates in the online gaming industry and is building a core data platform for data teams and data products.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, reusable frameworks and services for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Develop platform capabilities for orchestration, data quality validation, schema management, and data modeling standards.
• Build self-service features that help data engineers and analysts manage data assets efficiently.
• Improve the Data Developer Experience across the data platform.
• Evolve the platform architecture for greater scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Data DevOps Engineers on automation, observability, and CI/CD deployment while contributing to the platform roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with Python or Java.
• Experience building reusable frameworks, libraries, or internal tools.
• Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, SQL, and data integration patterns.
• Knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, DMS, and RDS.
• Knowledge of data modeling approaches including Inmon, Kimball, and Data Vault.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, APIs, microservices, Terraform, CI/CD, Kafka, and Git.
• At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering or at least 1 year in Data Platform Engineering.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
