Location: Hybrid role requiring in-person presence at the New York City or San Francisco office at least 2 days per week. Relocation support to NYC or SF is available as needed.

Salary: $230,000–$325,000 annually, plus equity. Final compensation depends on location and hiring level.

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for tax products, from foundational infrastructure to customer-facing calculation, reporting, and filing experiences.
• Build tax automation across cards, bill pay, banking, and other financial workflows for domestic and international customers.
• Expand Stack, an agentic accounting product, into tax by automating CPA workflows such as data collection, workpaper preparation, review, filing, and client follow-up.
• Partner with engineering and data science to deliver reliable AI systems with evaluation methods, quality metrics, feedback loops, fallbacks, and human controls.
• Translate complex tax rules and customer workflows into scalable product, data, and platform capabilities.
• Lead execution and cross-functional launch readiness with engineering, design, Finance, Legal, Security, CX, Sales, compliance, and support teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of product management or adjacent product-building experience.
• Strong expertise in tax, accounting, or finance, including how businesses or accounting firms calculate, review, report, and file taxes.
• Hands-on AI experience and understanding of evaluation, retrieval, latency, cost, safety, and accuracy trade-offs.
• Experience building trusted products with explainability, auditability, graceful degradation, and clear user controls.
• Strong product judgment, experimentation and metrics fluency, communication skills, and cross-functional leadership.
• BA/BS in a technical or analytical field such as computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience building tax calculation, compliance, reporting, or filing products.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax, VAT/GST, 1099 filing, or related tax domains.
• Experience with production AI products, LLM workflows, agents, evaluation systems, or document understanding.
• Background in payments, accounting software, ERP systems, data integrations, CPA firms, or tax practices.
• Experience taking complex 0-to-1 products from concept to scaled adoption at a high-growth startup.
