TL;DR
Data Engineer – Process Analytics & Data Intelligence (Azure/SQL): Building and operating production-ready data pipelines that integrate process, execution, and development data into a trusted operational data foundation with an accent on data quality, traceability, and analytics-ready modeling. Focus on integrating MES, PI Historian, ELN, and instrument data, replacing manual file-based workflows, and optimizing scalable pipelines for biopharma manufacturing operations.
Location: CH - Visp, Switzerland; fully site-based. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do
- Design, build, and operate automated data pipelines integrating file-based stores, operational databases, PI Historian, MES, ELN, and instrument data.
- Replace manual file-based handling with governed, versioned, and traceable data flows.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring for reliable operational data.
- Deliver clean, semantically consistent, time-aligned datasets for BI, advanced analytics, and modeling.
- Collaborate with MSAT, Process Development, Automation, QA, IT, and global data teams on data models and integration patterns.
- Improve pipeline performance, robustness, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Experience building, operating, and optimizing production-grade data pipelines in manufacturing, industrial, or operational environments.
- Strong SQL skills, including data modeling and query optimization for high-volume workloads.
- Hands-on ETL/ELT development and integration of process, execution, and operational data sources.
- Practical knowledge of OT systems such as MES, PI Historian, or instrument data platforms.
- Understanding of data quality, lineage, traceability, governance, and compliance, preferably in GxP-regulated environments.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake or Blob Storage, Git-based version control, and cloud-native data architectures.
