What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for a custodial wallet using Go, Postgres, Kafka, Redis, gRPC, and OpenAPI.
• Improve existing wallet flows and deliver new capabilities in collaboration with product, design, web, mobile, QA, and AQA specialists.
• Ensure consistency across wallet logic and APIs while improving user experience, system behavior, and development speed.
• Apply idempotent and backward-compatible API design, safe schema changes, rollback strategies, and observability-first practices.
• Own backend changes from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, monitoring, and incident handling.
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams and support technical planning and delivery breakdown.

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience, including strong experience with Go or a similar systems language.
• Strong knowledge of Postgres, Kafka, Redis, transactions, concurrency, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience designing and evolving gRPC and/or REST/OpenAPI service APIs with backward compatibility.
• Ability to improve complex product flows through safe, incremental changes and pragmatic technical decisions.
• Ability to work as the sole backend engineer in a cross-functional product team and own delivery end to end.
• Strong focus on reliability, data consistency, correctness, and clear cross-functional communication.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, wallets, or other high-integrity transactional domains.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kibana, and production debugging.
• Experience improving backend performance or reducing latency.
• Experience in fast-moving product teams with shifting priorities.
• Understanding of reporting and analytics patterns, including safe aggregated data and read-efficient APIs.
