Senior Technical Support Engineer (Python/MySQL)

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must be located in Argentina. This is a long-term independent contractor position.

What you will do

• Build strong customer relationships and resolve complex platform, configuration, and feature-related issues through phone, email, and video.
• Investigate application behavior using debuggers, logs, stack traces, MySQL, DataDog, and Python code.
• Test API endpoints and document reproducible defects, resolutions, troubleshooting procedures, and technical best practices.
• Improve legacy data delivery and reporting solutions using MySQL and QuickSight datasets.
• Collaborate with DevOps on DataDog monitoring for uptime, scalability, and system performance.
• Create technical documentation and knowledge-base content to improve customer self-service.

Requirements

• Computer Science or related degree.
• 4+ years of experience handling complex technical support tickets and 2+ years as a central technical services contact for enterprise clients.
• Advanced MySQL skills, including query execution and data analysis.
• Intermediate Python coding skills with strong ability to read and understand Python code.
• Experience with Linux administration, debugging, monitoring, maintenance, APIs, web technologies, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, and Bash scripting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; resume submission in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a scaling startup.

• Python web development experience with Django and/or Web.py.
