Technical Product Manager (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid (Tokyo, Japan). Must be in the office at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Own a product vertical end-to-end, managing strategy, roadmaps, and success metrics.
• Collaborate with engineering on technical designs, focusing on idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation, and scalability.
• Integrate regulated constraints (KYC, AML, sanctions screening, data residency) as first-class product inputs.
• Apply AI and LLMs where they can genuinely improve outcomes, ensuring all surfaced data is traceable.
• Manage trade-offs between correctness, speed, cost, and reliability.
• Coordinate across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance teams.

Requirements

• Significant experience owning complex technical products end-to-end.
• Strong proficiency in system design, including APIs, datastores, queues, and concurrency consistency.
• Experience in regulated, high-consequence domains such as payments, banking, or insurance.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based products and defining evaluation metrics for ML systems.
• Strong English communication skills required.
• Must be based in Tokyo, Japan.
