Backend Developer (OCaml)

hirify.global is looking for a backend developer with deep understanding of networks, distributed systems, OS fundamentals and taste for simple and efficient architectural designs.

Overview

You'll be working with a backend primarily implemented in OCaml with some C++, handling 25 petabytes of live data and using Linux daily. Your role involves independently managing bugs, making technical decisions, understanding the entire technology stack, and handling the full development cycle of components.

What you will do

• Independently manage bugs, schedule tasks, and investigate code.
• Make well-reasoned technical choices and take responsibility for them.
• Understand the entire technology stack from network and user-space code to OS internals and hardware.
• Handle the full development cycle of a component, including formalizing tasks, writing code and tests, setting up and supporting production, and resolving user requests.
• Approach problems practically and prioritize time efficiency.
• Write flexible, maintainable code and adapt to post-launch requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in OCaml.
• Knowledge of C++ is a plus but not essential.
