TL;DR

HSE Advisor (Field Support): Supporting health, safety, environment, and food safety across multiple Canadian work sites with an accent on program compliance and field-level inspections. Focus on conducting food safety audits, leading incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure operational safety.

Location: Hybrid (80% field / 20% office); must be based in Canada and able to travel extensively throughout the country

What you will do

  • Conduct regular site visits across Canada to monitor HSE and food safety program compliance.
  • Identify and assess hazards through audits, inspections, and risk assessments to implement appropriate controls.
  • Lead site-level incident and accident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
  • Provide on-site and virtual training, including WHMIS, Food Safety Certification, and Allergen Awareness.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to prioritize safety management systems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support internal and external audits such as COR and ISO to ensure certification requirements are met.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety and/or food safety in multi-site or hospitality environments.
  • Valid Advanced Food Safety Certification and practical experience applying food safety standards.
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Business, Trades & Technology, or equivalent field experience.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout Canada.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Canadian HSE regulations across municipal, provincial, and federal jurisdictions.

Nice to have

  • Train-the-Trainer certification in Food Safety.
  • Professional OHS certifications such as NCSO, CRSP, or HSA designation.
  • Bilingualism in English and French.
