TL;DR

Software Engineer (Java): Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs for travel data intelligence products with an accent on high-volume data pipelines and microservices. Focus on optimizing system performance, observability, and integrating cloud-native AWS infrastructure.

Location: Must be based in the UK (London Main Office / Remote-First in country of hire)

What you will do

  • Design, build, and operate reliable software services and RESTful APIs supporting core data products.
  • Develop scalable data-processing and workflow systems for high-volume travel and pricing pipelines.
  • Manage backend services, cloud infrastructure on AWS, and database integrations.
  • Collaborate with product and data science teams to transform business needs into technical solutions.
  • Improve system performance, observability, resiliency, and operational tooling.
  • Participate in on-call schedules, code reviews, and technical design discussions.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in core Java.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and effective SQL writing.
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, RDS, or Redshift.
  • Solid understanding of testing, version control, debugging, and secure development practices.
  • Must be located in the UK.

Nice to have

  • Experience with travel technology, airline pricing, or e-commerce data platforms.
  • Knowledge of microservices, message queues, or workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and containerized deployments.
  • Experience with Spark or large-scale data processing pipelines.
