Location: Must be based in Chicago, IL (4 days in office). Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $140,250 – $181,500

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents and agentic systems across internal platforms.
• Partner with non-technical business stakeholders to scope and convert needs into technical solutions.
• Build and enhance the agentic control plane and develop reusable services for agents.
• Apply context engineering principles, including prompt design, memory architecture, and retrieval strategies.
• Implement benchmarking and evaluation frameworks to measure and improve AI system performance.
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor other engineers to set the standard for AI development.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in applied AI (building agents, MCP servers, context engineering).
• Proven track record of deploying AI solutions in production environments.
• Strong programming skills, with Python strongly preferred.
• Expertise in LLM evaluation, observability, and benchmarking.
• Legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 10-15+ years of overall experience, including 5+ years in applied AI.
• Experience with AWS and/or Snowflake in a production context.
• Proficiency in NLP tasks such as summarization, classification, or entity extraction.
• Experience in consulting, platform, or internal services capacity.
