Android Mobile Engineer

TL;DR

What you will do

• Write and maintain Android code across the full engineering lifecycle: design, implementation, development experience, QA, and maintenance.
• Develop Android systems using Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and a clean-architecture modular setup with MVVM.
• Collaborate with Product and design to define feature specifications and deliver high-quality customer outcomes.
• Work on backend microservices occasionally while keeping the primary focus on Android.
• Release code to production frequently (every few days) and participate in a daily release cycle.
• Coordinate with engineering groups located around the world.

Requirements

• Based within a commutable distance (generally within 1–2 hours) of an office hub in Oxford or London.
• At least 3 years of commercial software development experience, solving varied technical problems.
• Experience developing Android apps and familiarity with mobile web and backend technologies (beneficial).
• Experience with reactive programming in native mobile platforms.
• Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
