What you will do

• Lead the Advocacy and Communication section in Iraq, supervising a Communication Officer and a Communication Associate.
• Coordinate and monitor public advocacy strategies to promote awareness and support for children's and women's rights.
• Manage media relations and networking to align local efforts with regional and global communication priorities.
• Develop and implement humanitarian advocacy and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies.
• Build communication alliances and engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve tangible advocacy impact.
• Perform monitoring and evaluation of communication activities and provide capacity building for the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Science, or related fields.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Communication, Media, International Development, or Humanitarian Assistance.
• Must be an Iraqi national.
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic (Fluent/Proficient).
• Strong skills in supervision, strategic thinking, and media relations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of other official UN languages (Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or local languages.
• Experience working in fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
• Previous experience with the UN or other International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs).
