What you will do

• Create digital crowd behaviors and simulations to achieve the movement and style envisioned by the Animation Director and VFX Supervisor.
• Collaborate with VFX/CG Supervisors to implement efficient crowd pipeline tools and techniques.
• Break down complex behaviors into cycles for the animation team to utilize.
• Propose creative technical solutions for specific shots and build templates geared towards automation.
• Mentor junior team members on technical and artistic challenges.
• Coordinate with artists, production, and supervisors regarding schedules, deadlines, and shot feedback.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of production experience in 3D animated films or episodic series.
• Solid expertise with Maya in a production-based environment.
• Experience with crowd tools such as ATOM, Golaem, Massive, or Houdini.
• Strong understanding of animation workflows, character rigs, and storyboard interpretation.
• Ability to successfully interpret creative briefs and meet production deadlines.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity from Sydney, New South Wales.

Nice to have

• Experience with ATOM.
