What you will do

• Partner with credit risk, legal, and product teams to advance the Lending capability.
• Lead projects from hypothesis to production, ensuring high output quality.
• Develop atomic, composable API-level building hirify.globals for the hirify.global intelligence layer.
• Design clean APIs optimized for uptime, latency, and cost-per-transaction.
• Operate and manage existing Cash services and improve wider engineering practices.
• Contribute to the tech community and support hiring through interviewing candidates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working on complex systems and delivering quality software.
• Expertise in Java and Kotlin.
• Must be based in Canada.
• Experience with AWS and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• AI-first mentality and familiarity with agentic engineering.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a transparent DRI/IC model.

Nice to have

• Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and microservices.
• Familiarity with Hibernate, jOOQ, Aurora, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, or Vitess.
• Experience with DataDog, Buildkite, and Gradle.
