Technical Lead – Java Backend

What you will do

• Lead and mentor backend engineers working on Java-based applications and services.
• Design and develop scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and integrations using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, frontend engineers, and technical stakeholders on solutions and delivery estimates.
• Support architecture decisions involving microservices, design patterns, database design, and cloud service configuration.
• Review code, address technical debt, and improve performance, reliability, security, and engineering standards.
• Prepare technical documentation, support deployment releases, and improve agile development practices.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development with Spring Boot or Spring Framework.
• Understanding of backend architecture, RESTful API design, microservices, MVC patterns, and OWASP-aligned secure coding.
• Experience with databases, SQL, data modelling, stored procedures, and backend data services.
• Practical knowledge of cloud services, preferably AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Elastic Beanstalk, EKS, SES, SNS, MariaDB, or MongoDB.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, review code, and resolve issues in an agile environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills across teams.
