Solutions Engineer (IAM): Designing and demonstrating identity and access management solutions for enterprise customers with an accent on secure infrastructure and cloud security. Location: Washington, DC. Includes up to 25% travel.

Salary: $160,000 — $220,000 USD

What you will do

• Act as the technical and domain expert for the Corporate/New Business sales team to help customers understand Okta's value.
• Analyze customer business challenges and provide tailored product demonstrations.
• Plan and deliver Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for customers with complex use cases.
• Provide feedback to product management regarding enhancements based on customer needs.
• Maintain expertise in competitive analysis and market differentiation.
• Support marketing events, executive briefings, and trade shows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
• Technical proficiency in web, mobile, or backend development (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python, Node.js).
• Experience with REST APIs, API Gateways, SDKs, and deployment on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field.
• Availability for approximately 25% travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with Auth0, Auth0 FGA, or OpenFGA.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM technology (LangChain, GenKit, LlamaIndex).
• Experience integrating with microservices, data lakes, or customer data platforms.
• Experience developing ReBAC or Fine-Grained Authorization models.
