What you will do

• Maintain and modernize legacy PHP meta-data services, transitioning them to a new Node.js stack.
• Design, develop, and deploy new high-quality Node.js services for specialized game functionality.
• Collaborate with game designers and product leads to implement new features within the ecosystem.
• Write maintainable TypeScript code using Nest.js, Next.js, Jest, and Docker.
• Optimize software for stability, performance, scalability, and security in a Google Cloud environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of proven experience in Node.js/TypeScript development.
• Proficiency in frameworks such as Nest.js, Next.js, Express.js, and Jest.
• Familiarity with PHP for maintaining legacy services.
• Experience developing and maintaining multi-server, high-load backend services and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Must be based in or able to work hybridly from Hamburg or San Ġiljan.

• Passion for the Warhammer 40,000 universe or strategy games.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), networking, and distributed systems.
