What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain SIEM detection rules across security, infrastructure, and cloud telemetry.
• Write and optimize SIEM queries using SQL and Splunk SPL.
• Analyze log data to identify security risks and investigate false positives.
• Document detection logic, dependencies, and operational response guidance.
• Collaborate with SOC, incident response, and cloud teams to ensure actionable telemetry.
• Support the full detection lifecycle, including peer review and deployment.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK is mandatory (no sponsorship provided).
• Practical experience writing SIEM queries (SQL or Splunk SPL).
• Proficiency with Linux command-line tools for log inspection and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of SIEM detection rules, alert logic, and security monitoring concepts.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify patterns in log data.
• Clear written communication skills for technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (EC2, IAM, VPC).
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Awareness of MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python.
