TL;DR
Assistant/Associate Professor (Computer Vision/Deep Learning): Developing an internationally recognized research line in visual data analysis and AI with an accent on deep learning for visual perception, generative models, and multimodal AI. Focus on building collaborations with industrial and academic partners and leading the next generation of engineers through research and education.
Location: Delft, Netherlands. Must be based in or able to relocate to the Netherlands. Hybrid work (partly from home) is possible.
Salary: €4,728 – €8,673 per month gross (depending on appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor).

What you will do
- Develop and lead an independent research program in computer vision and deep learning with international visibility.
- Publish high-quality research in recognized venues and secure external competitive funding.
- Teach courses in deep learning, machine learning, AI, and specialized computer vision at the university level.
- Supervise and mentor PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and MSc/BSc students.
- Build strategic collaborations with academic, industrial, and public-sector partners for societal impact.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic leadership within the Department of Intelligent Systems.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Vision, ML, AI, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong research record and a clear vision for future work in computer vision and deep learning.
- Demonstrated ability to teach AI and CV at the university level.
- Proven experience or high potential for acquiring competitive external research funding.
- Experience or clear potential to supervise PhD candidates in an inclusive manner.
- Ability to relocate to the Netherlands.
