What you will do
- Set the editorial agenda and prioritize stories for programmes and platforms.
- Shape distinctive, relevant, and agenda-setting output based on Irish current affairs and audience interests.
- Lead news gathering, playout, and live output workflows across broadcast, digital, social, and podcast platforms.
- Mentor and coach presenters, producers, and researchers to embed editorial best practices.
- Develop high-value contact networks to support original journalism and exclusive content.
- Ensure all content remains compliant with media law and regulatory obligations.
Requirements
- Substantial senior experience in news, current affairs, speech radio, or audio production.
- Expert editorial judgement and the ability to make confident decisions under pressure.
- In-depth knowledge of Irish current affairs and public debate.
- Authoritative understanding of media law, regulatory obligations, and ethical journalism.
- Proven track record in setting audience-focused editorial strategies to grow reach and engagement.
- Must be based in Ireland to support hybrid work requirements.
