Research Manager (AI/Life Sciences)

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Rome, Italy

Salary: €3,082.55 monthly (after tax)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the group's funding strategy, monitoring the landscape for calls from ERC, Horizon Europe, and other international foundations.
• Lead proposal development end-to-end, translating AI and molecular biology concepts into persuasive narratives.
• Coordinate submissions, budgets, and deadlines for grant applications.
• Manage awarded grants, including milestones, deliverables, and financial reporting.
• Support day-to-day lab operations and general group coordination.
• Manage the group's web presence and organize scientific workshops and events.

Requirements

• Proven track record of writing successful research grant proposals for EU or international funders.
• Outstanding written English proficiency for creating clear and persuasive technical narratives.
• Deep understanding of the European research funding landscape (e.g., Horizon Europe, ERC).
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work in Rome, Italy.

Nice to have

• PhD in computer science, life sciences, or a related field.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or computational biology research.
• Experience in organizing scientific events and workshops.
• Knowledge of Italian.
