What you will do

• Define and evolve the frontend architecture for mobile client applications using React Native and TypeScript.
• Drive performance optimizations for rendering, startup time, and UI responsiveness.
• Design and integrate custom native modules for Android and iOS to optimize cross-platform interoperability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and researchers to translate UX requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Establish coding standards, testing strategies, and development patterns to raise the quality bar.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the broader frontend team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on React Native or high-performance JS/TS apps.
• Must be based in Ontario, Canada to comply with the hybrid working policy.
• Expertise in native Android development (Kotlin/Java/Gradle) and shipping applications to the Google Play Store.
• Strong proficiency in frontend performance profiling, optimization, and debugging.
• Deep understanding of cross-platform architecture and bridging between JS and native modules.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Track record of building social, community, or gaming consumer products.
• Familiarity with VoIP, call dialing, and ringing flows in Android/React Native.
• Experience with accessibility, internationalization, and UI testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern frontend build systems.
• Previous experience in an early-stage startup or on a zero-to-one product team.
