TL;DR
Mobile Developer (Android): Building and shipping native Android features for BJAK's AI Finance Agent across insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services with an accent on clean user flows, performance, and reliable API integrations. Location: Remote within Japan; applicants must already be based in Japan. The role is also listed as hybrid in Tokyo.

What you will do

  • Build and ship native Android features for an AI-powered finance product using Kotlin.
  • Create clear mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services.
  • Work with product and design to simplify complex user journeys.
  • Integrate backend APIs and maintain stable, secure, and reliable mobile flows.
  • Improve app performance, crash rates, loading states, responsiveness, and memory usage.
  • Use analytics, user behavior, and production issues to improve the product and build AI-assisted experiences where they improve the user journey.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin.
  • Strong Android fundamentals and experience shipping production applications.
  • Knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues.
  • Strong understanding of mobile UX, usability, edge cases, user flows, performance, and reliability.
  • Strong English communication is required; English is the main working language.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Jetpack Compose, SQL or NoSQL, and TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference.
  • App links, GitHub profile, screenshots, or examples of shipped work.
