Senior Software Engineer (Climatetech)

Location: Remote-first in Europe, with an optional office in Oslo.

What you will do

• Build and maintain integrations with OEM cloud platforms for batteries, solar, smart meters, and HVAC.
• Design and evolve home energy APIs to unify telemetry and controls across the platform.
• Improve observability and vendor performance while participating in the team's triage rotation.
• Collaborate with partnership and commercial teams to assess API feasibility for new integrations.
• Build strong relationships with customers to shape product development based on real-world insights.
• Debug and ship production features using Node/TypeScript on an AWS-based stack.

Requirements

• Must be based in Europe.
• Experience building and maintaining backend services in production, ideally in API or integration-heavy systems.
• Strong skills in designing for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Ability to own work from initial scoping to production rollout.
• Comfort in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
• Clear, thoughtful communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, Node, AWS, PostgreSQL, or TimescaleDB.
• Familiarity with home energy assets, energy markets, or IoT ecosystems.
• Prior exposure to API-first products or integration platforms.
• On-call or incident response experience.
