Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS/Azure)

TL;DR

Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure): Setting the technical direction and designing scalable AWS and Azure platforms with an accent on automation, reliability, and operational excellence. Focus on solving complex hybrid cloud challenges, implementing Azure Landing Zones, and driving Infrastructure as Code standards via Terraform.

Location: Must be based in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur preferred). Currently mostly WFH, with a future transition to a hybrid WFH/WFO model in the KL Sentral office.

What you will do

• Act as the senior technical authority for designing resilient and secure infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
• Lead the implementation of AWS platform optimizations and the establishment of Azure Landing Zone architecture.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to build reusable modules and reduce configuration drift.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure delivery standards to ensure repeatable and auditable deployments.
• Mentor cloud and infrastructure engineers through technical coaching, architectural guidance, and code reviews.
• Improve system reliability through observability, capacity planning, and robust disaster recovery strategies.

Requirements

• Around 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience in complex production environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise in designing and implementing AWS infrastructure.
• Extensive experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration in cloud-native environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical direction and mentor engineers without formal people management authority.
• Must be based in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur preferred).

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure architecture and Landing Zone implementation.
• Hands-on experience with CloudFormation, Pulumi, or AWS CDK.
• Exposure to physical infrastructure, networking, and storage in hybrid environments.
