TL;DR

Design Release Engineer (Automotive): Leading the execution of adhesive joint development within the Global Powertrain Development Process with an accent on cross-functional collaboration and technical validation. Focus on ensuring program requirements are met, managing hardware budgets, and driving cost and quality improvements through warranty issue resolution.

Location: Must be based in Warren, Michigan (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

What you will do

  • Lead the overall execution of adhesives for joints throughout the Global Powertrain Development Process.
  • Work cross-functionally with Design, VDDV, Purchasing, Validation, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure program technical and timing requirements are achieved.
  • Define hardware and budget requirements for experimental build programs.
  • Lead warranty issue resolution and cost/quality improvements with suppliers and in-house manufacturing.
  • Support the creation of new best practices and lessons learned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer or Product Engineer.
  • Three years of experience with automotive adhesives development or release.
  • Proven experience with product engineering tools, schematic diagrams, and chemical composition.
  • Cross-functional experience in calibration, manufacturing, validation, and VDDV.
  • Must be able to report to the local office in Warren, Michigan.
