Senior General Ledger Accountant (Manufacturing)

Senior General Ledger Accountant (Finance): Managing end-to-end GL accounting and month-end close for EMEA legal entities with an accent on US GAAP compliance, SOX internal controls, and audit readiness. Location: Brno, Czech Republic. Must be eligible to work legally in the Czech Republic (permanent residency/free access to the job market). Hybrid setup (up to 2 days WFH per week).

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end GL accounting for assigned EMEA entities, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries for accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany, and fixed assets.
• Ensure financial accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and internal corporate policies.
• Perform high-quality balance sheet reconciliations and investigate root causes of unusual balances or control gaps.
• Lead accounting and finance improvement projects from initial analysis through implementation and stabilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Tax, Payroll, Treasury, FP&A, and external auditors.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of relevant GL accounting experience, preferably in a multinational company or shared service center.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal controls.
• Proven experience driving process improvement, automation, or finance transformation initiatives.
• Fluent English proficiency.
• Legal eligibility to work in the Czech Republic.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle, SAP, FCCS, Power BI, or Power Query.
• Proficiency in using AI tools as productivity enablers.
