Data and Information Systems Specialist (Agriculture)

Location: Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic; onsite position in the hirify.global Country Office in Syria.

What you will do

• Map and assess existing agriculture-related data systems and develop data management and information-sharing protocols.
• Establish reporting, tracking, data collection, and reporting systems, including standardized templates.
• Develop agriculture databases and dashboards covering crop yields, livestock censuses, market prices, and other core statistics.
• Conduct data analysis, visualization, sector performance analysis, and statistical reporting.
• Contribute to the Syrian Agricultural Investment Map, interactive Investor Platform, and Investment Guide.
• Provide technical support, training, and capacity building to hirify.global staff and Ministry of Agriculture stakeholders.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in information systems, statistics, agricultural economics, GIS, data science, or a related field; a bachelor's degree requires two additional years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in data management and information systems.
• Working knowledge of English is required.
• Strong data analysis and database management skills, with experience in dashboards and reporting systems.
• Experience with statistical and data visualization tools, plus the ability to develop data protocols and templates.
• Good communication and training skills.

Nice to have

• Arabic language skills.
• Knowledge of GIS and statistical software.
• Experience working with UN agencies and familiarity with hirify.global systems and standards.
