What you will do

• Provide tailored 1:1 wellbeing sessions and act as the primary contact for students seeking mental health support.
• Collaborate with academic staff to implement reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities or mental health conditions.
• Develop and deliver high-quality workshops, webinars, and training on mental health and inclusivity.
• Conduct initial assessments and risk evaluations for students in crisis, ensuring timely interventions.
• Act as a Safeguarding officer and ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and GDPR.
• Provide guidance on Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications and assist with diagnostic assessments.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of mental health issues, suicide prevention, and safeguarding practices.
• Demonstrated experience providing mental health support, ideally within an educational setting.
• Proven ability to manage crises and create recovery-focused plans.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, across multiple London campuses.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and external agencies.

Nice to have

• Accreditation with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCPC) or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
• Recognised professional certification in mental health counselling or psychotherapy.
• Knowledge of the Office for Students (OfS) regulatory framework.
