TL;DR
Staff Systems Engineer (Infrastructure Automation & Virtualization) (Python/Terraform/Ansible): Building automation platforms, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, developer tooling, and cloud infrastructure services across hybrid cloud environments with an accent on self-service provisioning, API integrations, and virtualization automation. Focus on designing scalable orchestration for Nutanix, VMware, KVM, AWS, and Azure, implementing CI/CD and policy-as-code workflows, and leading platform engineering standards.

What you will do
- Design and maintain infrastructure automation platforms and services using Python and infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Build reusable Terraform modules, Ansible frameworks, developer tools, and self-service infrastructure provisioning workflows.
- Develop API-driven automation, REST integrations, orchestration frameworks, and lifecycle management for compute, storage, and networking resources.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, policy-as-code controls, automated testing, and release processes.
- Automate Nutanix, VMware, and KVM environments and support hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
- Define engineering standards, lead complex automation initiatives, influence platform architecture, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or DevOps.
- Strong Python development skills and experience building production applications, automation services, APIs, or developer tools.
- Expert Terraform experience and strong Ansible experience in enterprise-scale infrastructure-as-code environments.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, plus Git, automated testing, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience automating at least two of Nutanix AHV/Prism/AOS, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and KVM/QEMU through APIs, SDKs, or infrastructure as code.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure, networking, hybrid cloud architecture, technical leadership, communication, and mentoring.
Nice to have
- Experience developing internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure portals.
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, operators, controllers, or orchestration platforms.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native technologies, and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with policy-as-code tools such as Open Policy Agent or Sentinel.
