Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and extend the LogScale backend using Scala to handle massive ingest and query loads.
• Collaborate with a distributed team on design reviews, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Lead cross-team platform initiatives, from scoping and design to deployment and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot critical customer issues and maintain operational excellence for production services.
• Contribute to the adoption and integration of AI technologies to streamline workflows and improve system efficiency.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA and able to work hybrid in Austin, TX.
• Strong experience in software development with a focus on distributed systems.
• Fluency in functional and object-oriented programming with the ability to learn new languages.
• Demonstrated track record of operational excellence in managing services across multiple regions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working in a distributed team.
• Ability to pass background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience programming in Scala.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Background in large-scale system architecture (10+ PB/day).
• Exposure to log management or cybersecurity products.
