Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco

What you will do

  • Hire, coach, and grow a team of data engineers, providing career development and performance management.
  • Set technical direction for data modeling, ensuring appropriate schema designs and the establishment of a Single Source of Truth (SSOT).
  • Oversee the construction and maintenance of batch and streaming ETL pipelines from ingestion to delivery.
  • Develop and evolve data governance strategies, policies, and standards across team domains.
  • Drive the integration of data engineering and AI to build high-impact foundational infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering leaders and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous needs into structured data solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and implementing ETL pipelines (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi).
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing or leading data engineers.
  • Proficiency in SQL, database management systems, and data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery and Airflow.
  • Must be based in San Francisco for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

  • Experience in financial industries, payment systems, or fintech platforms.
  • Knowledge of financial industry regulatory requirements and data governance practices.
  • Scripting skills in Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Certification in data management or related technologies.
