TL;DR
CNO Reverse Engineer: Perform reverse engineering of hardware components, software applications, and operating systems to determine functionality, code structure, and circuit design for CNO tools and techniques with an accent on Windows/Linux low-level analysis, malware reverse engineering, and exploit/vulnerability research. Focus on delivering proof-of-concept code, prototypes, and technical reports/presentations that support offensive and defensive cyber operations and cyber intelligence workflows.

What you will do
- Reverse engineer hardware components, software applications, and operating systems to understand functionality, code structure, and circuit design for CNO tools and techniques.
- Produce documentation and deliverables including reports, proof-of-concept code, prototypes, and hands-on demonstrations.
- Conduct Windows reverse engineering across user-mode and kernel-mode applications, including Windows kernel internals and driver development.
- Perform Linux kernel development and kernel module/device driver analysis, including low-level operating system internals.
- Run static and dynamic malware analysis, reverse malicious code, and identify adversary TTPs.
- Support cyber operations across the CNO mission space, including exploitation and cyber intelligence workflows, and present technical findings.
Requirements
- Clearance: U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance and a Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) completed within the last 2 years.
- Location: Full-time on-site in Hanover, Maryland.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, computer engineering, intelligence studies, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience performing software reverse engineering, vulnerability research, or low-level software analysis supporting DoD/Intelligence Community/Federal Government programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining production-quality software and clearly explaining engineering methodologies, design decisions, and implementation approaches.
- Proficiency in one or more of: C, C++, and Python, plus experience with exploit development, vulnerability discovery, binary exploitation, or software vulnerability research.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a related technical discipline.
- Advanced offensive security/reverse engineering certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, GXPN).
- Experience with advanced exploit development and vulnerability research against complex operating systems and applications.
- Experience reverse engineering APT toolsets or nation-state cyber capabilities.
- Working knowledge of current and emerging adversary TTPs and offensive cybersecurity trends.
