Laboratory Coordinator (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations, facilities, and supporting services.
• Manage laboratory requests from intake and feasibility assessment through planning, execution, and reporting.
• Maintain facility schedules, ensuring equipment calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with biological, cleanroom, and safety requirements, including the preparation of risk assessments.
• Implement the ESA Quality Management System and ISO 9001 processes to ensure traceability and reproducibility.
• Operate specialized infrastructure, including cleanrooms, gravity-simulation equipment, and planetary protection activities.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent qualification in engineering.
• At least 4 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience with bioassay swabbing, cleanroom operation, gas analysis, or similar research tests.
• Proven experience in laboratory operations, including planning, calibration, and cleanliness management.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and Quality Assurance implementation in engineering labs.
• Eligibility to live and work in the EU.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• Knowledge and experience of ESA/ESTEC operations and rules.
